How to Cook Chicken Breast in Toaster Oven?

The fresh chicken breasts can be the best option. But if you only get the frozen ones, that would still be okay. And you should never cook the frozen chicken breasts!

If you do, the inside won’t cook well. So, leave the frozen chicken out for a bit until reaching room temperature or close.

That will guarantee that your chicken will cook inside out.

In my recipe, I use coconut oil instead of olive oil. What I love about coconut oil are its high boiling points.

Olive oil will smell foul when cooked at high temperatures.

If you cannot find coconut oil, you could try canola oil, or vegetable oil, or other oils with high boiling points.

Alright, let’s go straight to the ingredients.

Recipe: What you need to prepare?

  • 2 skinless chicken breasts
  • Coconut Oil
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 cup of buttermilk
  • 1-2 cups of breadcrumbs
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Chicken powder
  • Garlic powder

Here are 6 Easy and Step by Step Process

First Step

  • Season the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and chicken powder.
  • Then marinate your chicken with the seasonings and the buttermilk.
  • Leave it for at least 3 hours.
  • Marinating your chicken overnight in the refrigerator will be much better.

Step two

  • Prepare your chicken.
  • Leave it for reaching room temperature.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • It would be great to tune your oven to Baking mode.

Step three

  • Coat the chicken with breadcrumbs.
  • You can get creative by making your coating, but I’d say using your standard breadcrumbs will be great.
  • Season your chicken.
  • If you like it spicier, consider sprinkling a little bit of cayenne.
  • Coat evenly and set aside.

Step four

  • Over the cooking tray, place a layer of aluminum foil.
  • Spray the surface with the cooking spray.
  • You can use coconut oil for it because it has such high boiling points.

Step five

  • Arrange the chicken on the baking tray.
  • Your chicken breasts should be lightly coated.
  • Brush the chicken with coconut oil or melted butter.
  • This will protect the chicken’s outer layer from entrapping the moist inside, preventing your chicken from drying out.

Step six

  • Leave it for 35 to 40 minutes.
  • If you have a smart toaster oven, it can tell you your chicken breast’s internal temperature.
  • If you don’t have the feature, you could check the temperature using a standard cooking thermometer.

That’s it!
